Why the OpenV2K project exists

Revenge story about events that led to the founding. You can even help this project, and crush the stigma ..or you can learn to stop worrying, and love the malpractice.

In this writeup I’m attempting to convey the profound implications, of making this historically covert capability: open source, affordable, and commonplace.
The “V2K” acronym stands for “voice to skull”, often slang for “pulse modulated RF/microwave neuroweapon”, used to harness the microwave auditory effect.
I’m taking back the often dismissed term, with real world RF engineering.

Most come here looking for any excuse to close the browser tab, while braying that this is just mental illness, because that’s all they can cope with, themselves. I’m so happy that their willful ignorance, is going to stab them, in their own turned backs.
There’s a special section at the end, for extra special readers, stuck in yesteryear.

Responding with deafening silence, or more of the same, sounds a whole lot like being complicit, when both ensure the below systemic violence, I’ve personally endured.
That and belligerent levels of denial, are destroying lives like mine.

All I need from you, as the reader, is to share this with friends and family.

When this reaches enough donors, this project will be demonstrable, and that will prevent continued suffering, by stopping the popular gaslighting of, “you’re just crazy”.
I will not be dismissed with “same as it ever was” attitudes, because this writing is an engineering affront, to braying assmuptions of psychosis. While those assumptions currently stand in the way of funding this project, they are a paradox, soon buried. They’ll have nothing of value to say, in the face of undeniable science, on a stage.

Every underlined phrase in this writing is a hyperlink, which I expect the reader to, at minimum, hover over, or click on, for concepts or acronyms they do not understand.

Timeline of Abuse

This is the section, where I concentrate my pain down into bullet points.
So if I say trigger warning to the abuse survivors, I hope that makes you find a good chunk of time, to take the emotional hit, instead of permanently shelving this writeup.
This is not a good time to read for anyone involved, and it took me quite a while to unpack it all. My intent here is to explain, “why the hell would I do this?”.

2012: Moved into a Bellevue apartment, to be closer to work, and cut my fuel usage. It worked, I used the RapidRide busses, that stopped right outside my new complex.
2013: Started poly dating. Started hearing intense high pitched noise, which building management confirmed they could hear. The intense noise persisted for months, in the living and sleeping areas of my apartment. They tried to charge me $4,400 to break my lease, to move out, after they ignored the intense noise, for months.
2014: Temporarily moved in with then girlfriend, while seeking a larger rental house.
Mid 2015: Moved out solo, to a condo rental in Kirkland, but we stayed together.
Started feeling directional heating sensations. It felt like a neighbor had disassembled a microwave oven, and aimed the magnetron through their ceiling, under my bed.
Late 2015: Broke up, shortly after I passed on a 343 FTE offer from Microsoft, due to being deeply unhappy about the Snowden NSA revelations, in the years prior. Afterward, installed sheet copper under my bed, because who was I going to scare away with perceptions, now? The heating sensations stopped.. that’s good and terrible.
Early 2016: Fled apartment for weeks, due to what I now accept to be a “V2K” weapon. At the time, I thought I had lost my mind, because I had never heard of it.
Having just lost both my job and relationship, I bought stress as the reason for this happening to me. I genuinely thought there was something wrong with me, back then.
The “V2K” did not follow me to the different county, and didn’t return for months.
Mid 2016: Landed new job at Esterline corporate, as an Automation Technician.
2014-2016: Short story from around this time frame: would you like to know more?
Late 2016: Moved again (still Kirkland), the harassment did not follow me, for months.
Early 2017: Bedlam. Full time employed, as neuroweapon abuse becomes nearly overt.
Someone starts saying “I’m going to kill you tomorrow morning, Barr” at me, and it sounds like it’s coming through my apartment floor. I call 911. I tell them about the death threats, and four times in their response, they say I’m just hallucinating it all.
What the fuck? I have no history of hallucinations, nor does anyone in my family.
So I make a parabolic mic to record what I’m hearing, from a metal torchere shade.
I’m able to record some of what I’m hearing, which I even submit to the local station.
Then, one day, I’m reacting to a voice from below, and it becomes apparent that no one is even home, when I leave my apartment later that day. “Well I must look like a titanic hallucinating asshole now, yelling at ghosts”, I thought to myself, at the time.
Was this the “V2K” technology, that I had just stumbled on, in my search for answers?
Mid 2017: Lost apartment, lost job, in the same week. Emptied apartment into boxes.
Aug 2017: Moved belongings to my Mom’s house and garage.
I arrived to a house filled with an extremely strong urine smell. My boomers were acting like space cadets, and could not remember the day before. I had to insist they clean up the hazmat situation, versus breathing ammonia, from a very active rat infestation. I spent lots of time in the open garage, disabled the central ventilation, and vented the bedrooms with a sealed-in box fan, until cleanup was completed.
The voice “from below my apartment” followed me to this house, a county away.. and it was now plainly evident, that what I was hearing was not a person below me, as I was sitting on a concrete slab garage floor.
I told LEO/FBI that I had scoped the problem wrong, and linked my social accounts.
Oct 2017: Havana Syndrome first reported, with curiously similar symptoms to mine.
Late 2017: Mother’s husband triangulates his abuse through her, and uses her, and fabricated, unfounded statements, to pitch me as making them scared for their lives, after I was just run out of my career and home. My precious boomers just piled on.
Jan 2018: I’m served with a protection order, stating that I’ve caused someone I now live with, to feel scared ..as I’m taking a shower, with my Ruger P944 sitting on the floor, with three full magazines in the holster, under my crumpled jeans.
I make the mistake, in hindsight, of leaving peacefully.
Feb 2018: I’m living off unemployment checks of about $500/week now, which I’m mostly signing over to the the local budget motel, at $440/week. All of my belongings, aside from some clothes, smartphone, and laptop, are now at a “no contact” address.
Mar 2018: Unemployment funds depleted, and no where else to go, I pull into the no contact address driveway, and wait to be arrested.
May 2018: I’m released on a Diversion Agreement, from a salty prick public defender.
Mid 2018: Homeless at Benedict House. Manage to land unionized state IT job at ESD.
Mid 2018: Moved to Lacey in early July, within biking distance to my new job.
Sep 2018: Mailed a “Motion to Revoke”, on the Diversion Agreement. I immediately start talking to local attorneys, because that could put me in jail. I take time off work, to prepare documentation, and speak with these attorneys.
Late 2018: Terminated from new ESD job, for “performance reasons”, after being stonewalled by management, who didn’t understand how their own systems work.
They seemed to be ACTUALLY firing me, for taking time off work, to defend myself.
Late 2018: Failure to stop, day after leaving rental room in Lacey, that I could no longer afford. Jailed two days in Grays Harbor, then released into Montesano.
I called my Mom (who I fully understood, at the time, was a “no contact” party), because I had no one else to call, and she came and picked me up, and brought me back to her house (which I also fully understood, was a “no contact” address).
I openly admit that I broke the law to survive. If I hadn’t, I may not be writing this.
2019: Living at the “no contact” address. Retrieved my impounded car, and repaired the shattered glass with my Mom’s help. Applying to jobs. Trying to tolerate infantile, belligerent screaming from her husband, about every asinine topic he can dream up.
He goes apeshit over found bits of paper, and flat cardboard boxes not being moved.
Dec 2019: I found the OpenV2K subreddit, after seeing others have failed before. My impression is, no one is going to accept this is possible, unless I make one myself.
Feb 2020: My precious boomers attempt to make me homeless at the start of the COVID pandemic. They threaten to stop paying for my storage unit, knowing that would squander all of my belongings. They threaten to stop paying my cellular service, unless “I choose” to start taking medication — the only solution my Mom’s batshit creationist husband is willing to accept. They threaten to stop paying for a cheap debt management plan, which ruins my credit — they did this one. They have the money.
They had been making me sleep in my bed, in the garage, during the winter, but with a heated electric blanket, so that practically absolves them of all guilt, apparently?
March 2020: I’ve seen enough. Enough backwards boomer horseshit. This is MY house now. I boarded up all the entrances, and denied them entry for a week. I eventually took my last dose of lisinopril the night before, and attempted to refill that and my antidepressant, by driving to the pharmacy. Well that didn’t happen for me.
An unmarked followed. I started a U-turn, they impacted my driver’s side (and then charged ME with Assault 2 for THEIR impact), as I was turning. I peeled out, with the cruisers facing the opposite direction now. I made it back to the house. I made it back inside. Now a bunch of support vehicles and SWAT are outside, megaphoning at me.
I verbally eviscerate the negotiator for a while, until my phone battery finally dies.
They breach the back sliding glass door, so I throw a Bernz-O-Matic on a pile of my mother’s husband’s art, puzzles, and pictures, that I’ve removed from the household.
Once the smoke ceiling drops to floor level, I surrender to the waiting SWAT team, who proceed to push so much of their weight into the back of my head, that they split the skin near my eyebrow, pushed down into the concrete patio. They mad?
(Some readers are in such denial, and so divorced from reality, that their takeaway here is: that I must have run out of antipsychotic meds, that I never had, or needed. Yikes.)
March 2021: Released from incarceration, on a guilty plea deal: one count of Assault 2 (my car vs police cruiser, not intentional, so Alford plea), two counts of felony harassment (for threats, that they deserved to hear, at the time, even in hindsight).

I’m thankful that the events I experienced, nearly coincided with mainstream “Havana Syndrome” coverage — within a year of my own reports. What I didn’t understand, at the time, is that because I’m an average civilian, my reports were simply delusions.
Just like “Havana Syndrome” was, and still is, being blown off as mass psychogenic illness (ye olde hysteria), or merely insecticide spraying (that’s rich, Canada), when the symptoms have instant onset, and instant remission. Like a prolonged button press.
Sometimes symptoms stick around, perhaps because permanent damage was done?

Despite this emergent mystery, the legal system expects extraordinary evidence, from average civilians, who report symptoms similar to that of intelligence officers.
When you don’t deliver (who can?), you’re not a victim, you’re simply delusional: Phew.
Civilian judges are pushing through those lunatic expectations every day, when even the US government cannot solve the mystery of the “Havana syndrome” attacks.

So what is a civilian supposed to do?
Calling 911 will get them all the wrong kinds of help, from “helpers” in deep denial, who think antipsychotic medications are a magic cure all, whenever folks use key word phrases like “directed energy weapons” or “neuroweapons”.
Nevermind that those are the accepted military terms for these technologies.. it’s time to take “your meds” now, because your “helpers” are just too willfully ignorant, to even attempt to wrap their heads around the fact that “directed energy weapons” are now a reality, being openly developed.
They’re also apparently being covertly deployed, but don’t say that as a civilian, or the system will royally fuck your life up. Unless you’re an officer in a foreign country, only then can you get a $140,000 disability check from the US government, for being attacked by invisible and unproven directed energy weapons.

My Revenge: Their Exposure

They don’t like people even suspecting, that these technologies are a thing.
They prefer to be nameless, to keep their victims busy, blaming themselves.
They prefer being a fart in the wind, with no legal entity to sue into the ground.
Don’t ask me who “they” are, because I don’t have the answer that we both seek, and my speculation here would not actually harm whoever they are, it’d only harm me.
So what would any faceless, covert operator, truly fear? Exposure.

How about I disinfect their covert technology, and covert tactics, with sunlight?
What if literally anyone could mimic what they do, by downloading a software module, and then chaining together some amplifiers, into a waveguide antenna?
How about I turn their meddling, and way of life, into entertainment for children?
How about I open source their shit? How about I give it away for nothing?
This went pretty okay for Torvalds, even when Microsoft probably wanted him dead.

Is this revenge story less satisfying, not knowing “their” identities? Perhaps, but judge for yourself — Do you need to know your opponent’s name, to knock them down?
By the end of this, I don’t think anyone will argue that this is not knocking them down.

This is the kind of exposure I respect, and apparently the kind the operators do not like, as the founder and maintainer of FFTI, went silent, about two years ago. The website was deleted, and the organization now appears dead.
These billboards were reaching people in a major way, and now they’re all gone.

Over the past year, I’ve mechanized an alternative: “laminated leaflet” QR codes.
Imagine finding one of these, on a random nature walk, or dropped in front of your mailbox, or found in an area with dense foot traffic — that’s happening right now.
I’m making these by the hundreds, with a laser printer, and affordable hand presses.
Anyone that will pledge to distribute similar information, I’ll send you object files, for a 3D printable, hobby motor based, “laminated leaflet” dropping machine, complete with penny weighted follower, teflon tube “leaflet stack skids”, and silicone gaskets.
It doesn’t look, externally, like what it is, on the inside.. I don’t like getting hassled.

They “can’t stop the signal”, of a mechanized, direct distribution sneakernet.
One per pair says “Scan Me or Wonder”, the other “Take One or Suffer”, on the back.
For VIPs, I tape encapsulate a microSD card, containing offline HTML archives of subreddits to read. That way everyone can be informed, via cheap burner phones even.

This diagram is the project in a nutshell, but the pulse modulation concept, is not new.
I’ve just replaced the undisclosed RF pulse generation hardware, with free software.

Pulse Modulating the Microwave Auditory Effect

Anyone reading and already saying variations of “that will never work”, I show you that this technique has already been done, back in 1975, before I was even born:

The microwave auditory effect has been pulse modulated with audio waveforms to evoke understandable spoken numbers.^[3][4][5]

It has also been developed for the US military, in the 2000s, with MEDUSA:

MEDUSA (Mob Excess Deterrent Using Silent Audio) is a directed-energy non-lethal weapon designed by WaveBand Corporation in 2003-2004 for temporary personnel incapacitation.^[1] The weapon is based on the microwave auditory effect resulting in a strong sound sensation in the human head when it is subject to certain kinds of pulsed/modulated microwave radiation.

For safety, carbon-impregnated foam can take the place of a human volunteer.
The foam acts as a transducer, converting the RF energy, into acoustic energy, in the same way that a stereo speaker driver, converts electrical energy, into acoustic energy.

It can be hard to accept, that such relatively simple pulse modulation, can evoke such a perceived-to-be-exotic capability. What is clear from the science, is that 16mJ RF pulses can evoke a cranial pop, click, chirp, or knock sound. Also demonstrable since the 70s, is that if you generate the pulses rapidly, those individual “RF sounds”, blend together, into understandable sounds and speech. Somewhat like persistence of vision, allows us to see blinking, moving LEDs, as one, continuous, readable message.

In the last 48 years, since the first public demo in 1975, what has been developed, and what mechanisms of delivery could now exist, beyond high power RF pulses? What classified technologies have been honed and polished, in those 48 years, with the capability of delivering voice into the human cranium, as the goal? Military intelligence circles would have sprinted with the concept, like they had the one ring.

I think it’s even plausible (and the historical timing is correct), that the MKUltra program was “abandoned”, in favor of using directed energy based neuroweapons. When the means to deliver voice into the cranium exists, and at range, and invisibly, and (usually) deniably, without ever having to inject anyone with psychotropic drugs?
Intelligence officers would take that option in a heartbeat. I don’t need to be a fly on the wall to accept that, nor do you. That option gives them plausible deniability, with the ability to reliably influence decision making (and I’ll get to this later). No brainer.

Who has spectrum analyzers or other RF test tools, always on and waiting, besides the one to ten percenters, with the means? The folks who are able catch lightning in a bottle (by detecting an intended-to-be-deniable signal), with their elite signal identification and intelligence gathering gear, do not cater to average civilians.
No really, ask the NSA to drive out a surveillance van for you, as a civilian claiming to be attacked with directed energy weapons.. I’ll wait. Crickets or social workers, right?

Crushing the Stigma,
and Antiquated Diagnostic Criteria

The DSM V states, that for the definition of hallucination to be accurate, there must be an absence of an external stimulus. This fact was even stated by a MHP assigned to me in 2020, who then proceeded to claim I was “obsessed” with directed energy weapons, apparently not grasping, that directed energy weapons are a plausible external stimulus, that could very plausibly cause people to “hallucinate voice”.
(Buy an amplifier huge enough, and THIS project is a “directed energy weapon”, but the line of legality, is 1500W of peak output power, for amateur radio operators)
I think that’s a really healthy reason to be interested in such things — because they fully account for all of my symptoms, and would mean that all of my symptoms could very well be from an external stimulus, and not from a malfunctioning brain.

Meaning their treatment plan for me was dead wrong, and still is, going forward.
Did this stop them for a second? No, oh shit no. WSH staff proceeded to almost kill me, with a double dose of injected Zyprexa (staffer said this right to me, at the time), which literally halved both my blood pressure values, and my pulse, for hours. Staffers wheeled in a crash cart, and hooked me up to an IV saline drip, after strapping me down and restraining me on a bed, without my consent.

During my prior “Sell” hearing, my defense attorney correctly pointed out that the medication WSH wanted to force on me, has potentially permanent side effects: uncontrollable muscle spasms, akathisia, muscle rigidity, and tardive dyskinesia.
WSH did not care I had never taken any antipsychotic medication before.
WSH did not care that I have a history of medicated depression (and not psychosis).
WSH did not care that I was a technology professional, using real, scientific terms.
WSH says, telling them they’re wrong, is evidence of illness. (Blow me, Dr.Brown)
WSH says, “you must be feeling furious”, to provoke you. (Lick my butt, Dr.Bowman)
WSH will force antipsychotics, with no observed symptoms. (Need rope, Dr.Cason?)
WSH outright fabricated comments from me, in order to ensure their course of action.
WSH successfully repeated some of the abuse from my family (that led to a string of felonies, which landed me at WSH, for refused hearings), then pretended to be victims of “assaultive language and threats”, after they had threatened me with forced meds.
They will treat you like you said “air loom”, when you really said “directed energy”.
I have a xerox calling this subreddit, “delusions that is violent in nature”. :monocle:

You should skim over James Tilly Matthews (the first documented case of “paranoid schizophrenia”, in 1797 — surely a coincidence with Galvani’s groundbreaking “Animal Electricity” paper, in 1781, that historians say went “unnoticed”), and note, that while humanity did not possess the technology that he depicted in his artwork, at the time (the vacuum tube and transistor, precursors, were discovered over 100 years later, in the 1900s), I and many credentialed professionals would argue that we now do posses neurotechnologies, that could have been weaponized.
Then plausibly denied, as the ultimate dissent quashing tool:
Put your political enemies in psych wards, who will assume everything the target hears or feels, is caused by an internal brain disorder. Fuck yes to that, they said?

Where Matthews clearly did not understand what he was drawing, my diagrams are valid in a real world engineering sense. MHPs cannot tell the difference, between reality and the fantastical, and currently treat both as “illustrations of madness”.

Even if you cannot accept this right now, when do you accept that weaponized neurotechnology will catch up to the “ye olde 1797 fantastical”, with the ability to mimic enough of the symptoms, to meet the diagnostic criteria for schizophrenia?
Consider what symptoms could be evoked, by merely making someone appear to hallucinate voice? Then by lying to them, until the victim was considered delusional? Those alone, satisfy the “at least two” criteria, for making a professional diagnosis.
There is still no double blind test for mental illness, it’s all based on opinion, making psychiatry the least scientific “branch of medicine” currently still in existence.

These systemic ills, between law and psychiatry, cannot be allowed to continue.
With malpractice of that magnitude, some psychiatric hospitals may as well be serving as glorified death camps. Where genuine targets go, to get “helped” to death.
The professionals are going to keep committing severe malpractice, under the banner of “helping”, until they’re faced with undeniable proof that “hearing voices” has another scientifically valid explanation, that isn’t an internal brain disorder.
Surely that realization can take the place, of an inglourious bat to the head? Surely.

When even well meaning MHPs can be confronted with a real world prototype, that has the capability to make anyone appear to “hallucinate voice”, they’re going to be forced to adapt their world view, or they’re out of their chosen profession.
Who would allow anyone in deep, demonstrable denial, to give them therapy, or psychiatric medications? Fucking no one. Time for a new provider, yesterday.
They’d correctly be fucked off as incompetent quacks.

There are many folks that will still suggest, that targets of directed energy weapon abuse, “try the medication”, when every symptom aligns with an external stimulus, because they are in such deep denial, that all they can accept, is a psychotic break.
THAT IS THE ONLY EXPLANATION CURRENTLY WIDELY ACCEPTED.
There are voices of better reasoning out there, that acknowledge “auditory hallucinations” (as “hearing voices” would be called, by nearly all MHPs), have other causes, but still, their wheelhouse of knowledge narrows the scope of possible explanations available to them: that symptom still must be psychology/brain related.

The authority figures from your home state WILL assume the same thing.
The LEOs will assume you’re merely a run-of-the-mill psychosis case.
The judges and MHPs will assume they can help you with a cocktail of medications.
They will not get your consent, to force medications on you, via a court order.
They will not care that symptoms are not present. They’re “your” medications now.
I gave them every red flag, every full stop and re-evaluate signal: they gave no fucks.

Profound Pronouns

Perhaps you're saying, so what? So any amateur could make anyone "hallucinate" voice, by sitting directly in front of a waveguide antenna. You’re right, as this would be a crude implementation — but this project validates the foundational concept.
With a bigger budget, you would get way more watts, and way better collimation.
You would get throw range, at minimum. Enough for covert neighborhood warfare.
With Vircators as the source, you’d get from 10 Billion to 1 Trillion watt pulse output.
No, I did not convert the scientific notation wrong, they’re that powerful, and no, you wouldn’t feel one burning you, as "the radiofrequency hearing effect depends on an energy dose three orders of magnitude below the threshold of detectable warming".

I want readers to really step back and try to accept the implications of the “voice to skull” capability, that this project makes available. This crude capability will help folks accept, that those with the means, and loose ethics, would do unspeakable things.
While “hearing voices that others cannot” is already deeply upsetting, the capability can be so much darker than that. Try to imagine the real power one could weild:

Given that some people are absurdly suggestible, consider what might happen, if a “voice to skull” operator, merely started using “I” and “me” pronouns, while speaking into anyone’s cranium, with a pulse modulated microwave weapon.
Would those targeted, adopt the external stimulus, as “their own internal monologue”, and perhaps start behaving in very peculiar ways? Would they? I really want to know.
I’d bet some military intelligence officer, decades ago, said the same thing, already.

Could this family of technologies, be delivering “pronoun” suggestions?
Could operators suggest “I want lasagna”, and then claim they have programmed or even “mind controlled” that person, into having lasagna for dinner that night?
Could they be suggesting more serious life choices, such as “*I* want a career change”, or “*I* want to marry and reproduce”, or “How dare they talk to *me* like that”?
What could such suggestions accomplish in society, on a wider scale?
Would hitting GI organs with similar RF weapons, make folks “trust *their* gut”?
Who could they bully around with the mere perception of “mind control”?
What could they accomplish, on simpletons that cannot even cope with neuroweapons being real? How much influence would “V2K” operators have over someone like that, in deep denial about such technologies ..even existing?

In Closing

I’ve hopefully turned some unknown unknowns, into known unknowns, and known knowns, on this subject matter. Now readers know exactly what is needed, and exactly what demonstrable course of action, will shatter establishment government practices.

There are badass devs out there, with an axe to grind, who may want to throw some gasoline on a fascist brush fire. Sink their battleship, damn the consequences?
Shake up the global power structure a bit? Launch some missiles, who knows brohs?

I’m saying that while living off of SNAP. Then all it takes is one legendary developer to come along, to complete a GRC flowgraph or custom GRC module, in a weekend.
Once the software is available, it can be freely copied, and implemented, by anyone.
If I have my way, and brave donors, this could be done done before the year is out.

"Deny this", anyone could say, as they ask any denier to take a seat in front of their waveguide antenna. They type “hello world” (or maybe “repent thy doubt, heretic!”) into their laptop, and the seated person hears it, but no one else present.
Such a video recordable demo would make huge waves.

I’m asking for the kind of help I actually need — from RF engineers and developers.
- Since me learning calculus in Python, for module development, will take too long..

I’ve found that “helping” people in deep denial, by threatening them with traumatic brain injury, really “helps them” understand how toxic and harmful their solutions are.
